Artist Quentin Anderson 2 Appearing at Ono's on December 13th!

Sweet Indulgence on December 13, 2012 features Artist QUENTIN ANDERSON 2, who will be painting and selling art for the holidays this month at Ono's Cafe in Bonita!

About Quentin:

"I feel like I have always had a beautiful perspective on life growing up in San Diego, California. I have always had a running imagination and there has been much inspiration around me to fuel my creativity. My family and friends did and still continue to cheer and support every artistic effort I embark on, which is a continuous learning experience in every way.

Through the years I have found many different ways to create and show my artistic expression, and it is always a blessing to see the beautiful inspiring work others have done. I believe there is art in everything around us, it just takes an open mind to see it."

SWEET INDULGENCE at Voyou Wine Bar on Thursday, December 20, 2012, 6:00 p.m.

The holiday season is upon us and, I must admit, I am excited about it! I am drawn to the creations of the local artisans and this month presents several opportunities for you to support them at various shows. I will be updating pretty regularly in the weeks to come. I know you will find the work of these artists and business owners to be of exceptional quality and value.

Holly B Designs is a La Mesa-based jewelry company run by Holly Beck. We have worked together on numerous occasions and she will be a featured designer at the holiday edition of SWEET INDULGENCE at the French-themed wine bar, Voyou, on December 20th.

Holly B Designs are classy, very feminine and often created with healing stones. I have worn the necklaces and earrings since 2011 and I am always pleased with the way I feel while wearing this jewelry as well as how the designs easily compliment various clothing styles.

In addition Seasons Botanicals will offer beautifully scented hand-made soap and healing essential oil blends. These combinations make superior and unique gifts for all occasions. You will definitely want to catch the talk we will have on the use of these oils and their amazing healing qualities.

Comic-Con Week! We Have Two Events in Downtown San Diego!

It is an exciting week! We have two events occurring during Comic-Con week in San Diego!

Wednesday, July 20th at 6:30 p.m., Sweet Indulgence (see write up in City Beat's 7/13/11 Bars and Clubs issue) will be held at The Dragon's Den featuring illustrator Jen Fong's work along with live art by Anna Zappoli, Tiffany Nakanishi, Daniel Hardison and Martin Nasim!

Music provided by DJ Blur and a super fun Body Painting extravaganza by local designer Madame Kate's! Delicious happy hour specials and sushi! All of this within the sophisticated lounge setting of the Dragon's Den (only a few quick minutes from the convention center). 315 E Street, San Diego, 92101.

"SUPERNATURAL" ~ Fresh Live Music and Art Show

On Thursday, July 21st, we will be at the Bareback Grill, 624 E Street for "Supernatural," a live art and music show featuring the Mega*Nut Trio. Lonnie "Mega*Nut" Marshall of the Los Angeles-based band Weapon of Choice will join guitarist Dan Dasher and Damon De La Paz (drummer) of the San Diego-based band Irradio for an amazing performance.

Live art by Anna Zappoli, Daniel Hardison and displays by Quentin Anderson; body art, fashions by The Hair Club and stylings by a Salon by Robert Cromeans. Event starts at 6:30 p.m. with happy hour specials on craft beer and wine.

Sweet Indulgence Highlights from March 10th at The Turquoise

We did it! We had our second Sweet Indulgence event at The Turquoise on March 10th and it was a wonderful. Not only did we have the lovely duo LOVE AMOS perform an early set, we also had Esencia Jazz Ensemble perform and several guest musicians arrived to celebrate during this evening. Local artist True Delorenzo created a patio full of his lovely paintings, with the assistance of David Goff; Hillary Young and Quentin Anderson created live art on-site as well as featured their latest works. Daniel Hardison showed his work for the first time at this venue -- several canvases filled with his beautiful vision and Richard ChauDavis took his blurry pictures and experiential photography to an entirely different level!

Local Pacific Beach business, Sugar and Scribe, featured edible art in the form of delicious cupcakes, tarts and truffles.

The Turquoise has delicious food -- salads, appetizers and an extensive selection on the dinner menu. We tried the Risotto (which was vegetarian) with cheese, anise, and delightful flavors. You'll also want to check out the tapas menu (which are on special for happy hour -- 5-7 p.m. daily).

The next Sweet Indulgence event will be on Thursday, April 14th at 5:30 p.m. with Steve Harris (of The Styletones and Stevie and the Hi-Stax) performing an early set. You will not want to miss this evening of soul, rhythm and blues and jazz by Esencia Latin Jazz Quartet!
