Thank you so much to everyone who came out to support The EARFUL and DJ SK Funk benefit last night at the Kava Lounge on March 10. The band was excellent and the vibe was right! If you have not seen this band, I really hope you check them out as soon as possible. This event was dedicated to supporting individual and environmental wellness right here in San Diego. Cause-oriented events like this make it possible for people in our very own communities to have greater access to resources such as learning how to heal themselves through mind/body awareness and how that in itself can help to heal their families and environments. This kind of information is vital to our youths and communities and is conveyed through the Envirofest at Chollas Lake Park event (in Oak Park/Southeast San Diego) which occurs in September. While some people are unaware of this park, it is a community jewel and so are the people who live in neighborhoods surrounding it.
I would love to continue to see nonprofits, businesses and people of all backgrounds joining forces to help create solutions for themselves, serve each other – not only in this community but in all communities. I know that MUSIC and ART are enormous healers and appreciate everyone’s support of these musicians and the arts in general.
